Transfer students with 30 or more semester credit hours who have been admitted to Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) for the Summer or Fall 2009 semester need to meet with an Academic Advisor prior to registering for classes. The purpose of meeting with an Academic Advisor is so you can receive proper advisement as to which courses to take in the upcoming semester. Also, for us to determine which courses you’ve taken transfer into your degree plan at TAMUK.

2009 Transfer Students have two options...

1.   Sign up for a Transfer Session to be held on the following dates:

Thursday, May 28th...2pm-5pm

Tuesday, June 9th…2pm-5pm.

Thursday, June 25th…2pm-5pm.

Thursday, July 9th…2pm-5pm.

Thursday, July 30th…2pm-5pm.

Thursday, August 6th…2pm-5pm.

Thursday, August 13th…2pm-5pm.

Transfer Sessions for recently admitted transfer students w/30+ hours are held from 2-5pm. Students will initially meet as a group to receive general but pertinent information about TAMUK. A brief campus tour will be given as you are led to meet with your Academic Advisors. Student’s will then meet individually with an Academic Advisor and receive a personalized degree plan, register for classes, and learn how their transfer credits can be used towards their degree at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. You need to bring a copy of all your college transcripts and test scores (if applicable) when you attend your session. There is no fee to attend the Transfer Session.

To sign up, contact Mike Ashburn, Coordinator of Academic Advising, at 361-593-2994.
