A LETTER FROM THE OFFICE
OF THE Dear Fellow Javelina, I can not express how truly proud I am to once again be your Student Body President for the 2007-2008 academic year. It is my privilege to say welcome to everyone and to let you know how excited I am to be representing you, my fellow students. The students create A&M - Kingsville, and it is a successful university because of you. I sincerely hope the time you spend here earning your degree will be fun and rewarding. At Texas A&M University - Kingsville, the Student Government's purpose is to serve as the main governing body for the students. SGA provides funding for recognized student organizations, promotes events on campus that create pride in the university, and voices the opinions and concerns of the student body to the administration. Overall, SGA strives to bring all students together; through hard work and laughter, SGA constantly works to make A&M - Kingsville a better place. As President of SGA, my hope is that everyone makes the most out of their time here at A&M - Kingsville. Whether a student is here for four, five, or six years, I hope that he or she gets involved in campus activities. A student can only get as much out of his or her college experience as he or she gives; as Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." If a student chooses to go to A&M - Kingsville, the school becomes his or her world, his or her microcosm. Change it for the better. As a member of SGA, you will be surrounded by students who are truly interested in all aspects of life here at A&M – Kingsville and are doing more to make Texas A&M University – Kingsville a better place today and for generations to come. Study hard and develop all your talents and capacities. Be a part of deciding what is best for A&M - Kingsville students by joining the Student Government Association. And make this community and our world a better place because you are a Javelina. For more information you can also visit our webpage: http://osa.tamuk.edu/sga/. If you have any questions or concerns, I urge you to call me at 361-593-3610 or write to me at Thomas.Bingham@students.tamuk.edu. SGA meetings always have an open door; I encourage you to come and share your opinions. I hope you have a safe and wonderful year at Texas A&M University - Kingsville! Sincerely, Thomas M. Bingham |
