The Career Services Center dedicates itself to the development of innovative programs and services that promote the life-long career management for students and alumni. The Texas A&M-Kingsville Career Services Center assists students in exploring and defining career options, developing job search strategies, identifying and networking with prospective employers as well as obtaining career-related work experience. The center provides individual and group career advisement, job search workshops, a resource library, career fairs and on campus interview opportunities.

Specifically, the Cooperative Education and Internship Program offers students the opportunity to work during the summer or to alternate a semester of school with a semester of full-time work, thereby gaining valuable hands-on experience in their major field. Students with a minimum of 30 hours course credit are eligible to apply for an internship. This program enhances the student’s knowledge of a particular academic field and provides the student with a professional network within an organization that may serve as a mentor for future academic training or placement.

In addition, the On-Campus Interview Program offers students an opportunity to interview for employment following graduation as well as internship positions. Recruiters representing nationwide companies contact the center and establish an on-campus schedule to conduct interviews with qualified students. The Off-Campus Student Employment Program assists students by locating part-time employment opportunities in the local community while attending the university. Employers throughout the community list vacancies with the Career Center . Upon completion of registration at the Career Services Center , students are then referred based on qualifications established by the employer.

Career Fairs are held each semester, allowing students the opportunity to meet with prospective employers. This past year more than 1,600 students participated in the fall and spring Career Fairs, which drew 275 recruiters representing over 100 corporations and agencies. Two annual Education Fairs and a Graduate and Professional School Fair are sponsored each fall semester.

Professional staff complement and understand the mission of A&M-Kingsville’s Career Center and are readily available to meet with you to discuss your career direction.
