FINANCIAL
AID Financial
assistance is available to college students who qualify.
Funds from a variety of sources assist students and parents in
achieving their responsibilities in paying for college.
Costs associated with attending Texas A&M University-Kingsville
include tuition/fees, room/board, books/supplies, transportation and
personal expenses. Financial
Aid Application Process Prospective students must
apply for admission to Texas A&M University-Kingsville by contacting
the Office of Registrar/Admissions located in College Hall, Room 140,
593-2315. Their mailing address is Admissions, MSC 128, 1.
Complete
the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
This form may be done using the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The FAFSA form also may be picked up at any local high
school guidance office, community college or university financial aid
office. Be sure to request
that the FASFA results be sent to Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Financial
Aid Office. The school code is 003639. 2.
The Processing Center returns a Student Aid Report (SAR)
to the applicant in about four weeks.
This form must be kept with other important records. 3.
If the student requested that the FAFSA results be forwarded to
A&M-Kingsville, an electronic
version of the student’s SAR will be retrieved by the Financial
Aid Office. 4.
About 30 percent of the students applying for federal assistance
are selected for verification. If
selected, the student will need to submit a copy of his/her or their
parent’s 5.
A 5. Financial Aid Application must also be submitted
when applying for summer aid. Once the application
process is completed, the student may be awarded financial aid.
An Award Notification Letter will inform the student
of the assistance granted. A
student loan will require additional processing, which is handled in the
financial aid office. Work
Study assistance is awarded to eligible applicants but students must apply
and be selected for a job on campus in order to receive the funds.
It is the responsibility of the student to have other resources
available should the financial assistance not cover their total
educational expenses.
