The
Marc
Cisneros
Center
for Young Children (CCYC) provides a safe and nurturing environment that
promotes the physical, emotional and cognitive development of young
children while responding to the needs of families from the campus
community. Child-initiated, child-directed, teacher supported play is an
essential part of the program.
The
center is operated under the human sciences department within the
College
Of
Agriculture
, Natural Resources, and Human Sciences. The CCYC is licensed by the Texas
Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and meets the minimum
standards for day care centers. Staff members include a director,
cook/housekeeper, master teachers and university work-study students. The
CCYC also serves as a laboratory setting for university students enrolled
in child-related courses. Several university disciplines require
observation and/or participation at the CCYC.
The
CCYC is open to children of university student-parents, faculty and staff
and the local community, from ages three months through five years. To
register, please call or come by to place your child on the waiting list.
Upon enrollment, there is a nonrefundable registration fee of $50 and
registration materials must be on file before the child’s first day of
attendance. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through
Friday and follows university observed holidays.
