RESIDENCE HALL LIVING POLICY

http://housing.tamuk.edu

On-campus housing facilities are administered through the Residence Life Office located in Lewis Hall.  Each residence hall is administered by a residence hall director, resident advisors (RAs) and other staff that are committed to helping residents with their needs.  Students residing in university housing are responsible for being aware of all policies and procedures as printed in their housing agreement, Residence Life Guidebook, the university catalog and this publication.

Required Residence Policy

The university requires all students who are single, with less than 30 hours or under 20 years of age to reside in the university residence halls.  Students under the required residence policy will automatically be assigned and billed for housing charges.  Exemptions may be considered if the student is living with a parent or legal guardian within a 40 mile-radius. All students wishing to commute (including those who are residents of the Kingsville area and married students) must complete a Housing Exception Request Form, which is available at the Residence Life Office or online at http://housing.tamuk.edu.

Requests for housing exceptions should be submitted prior to August 1 for the fall semester and prior to December 1 for the spring semester.  A committee will review the requests and notify the students of their housing status.  Until written notification is received, students who request exceptions to the policy should not make arrangements to live off-campus.
